A Maintenance Agreement? What’s Not to Like?
Signing a maintenance agreement with your trusted HVAC contractor is one of the most important things you can do to maintain the performance and efficiency of your heating and cooling systems, prevent unnecessary repair costs, and gain valuable savings on parts. It can also keep you from voiding your equipment’s warranties, as most warranties require system repairs and regular maintenance be performed by a licensed technician.
In addition to energy efficiency, better performance, cost savings and warranty benefits, you will benefit from semi-annual maintenance visits and priority scheduling. What’s not to like?
Energy efficiency. Routine maintenance is a key component in optimizing your HVAC system’s efficiency. If you have a brand new system, you may not need to think about a maintenance agreement for a few years, as long as you observe semi-annual maintenance appointments. However, once your system is a few years old, regular maintenance keeps parts operating smoothly, ensures filters (of the correct efficiency) are changed regularly, and allows technicians to address small issues before they become larger ones.
Cost savings. The sooner issues are caught, the sooner they can be fixed, which helps to reduce annual repair costs. Plus, at Ernst Heating & Cooling, our maintenance agreement provides clients with a 15 percent discount on filters. Should your A/C or furnace experience a breakdown, you also will receive a 15 percent discount on repairs, which can translate to hundreds of dollars.
Warranty protection. Today’s high-efficiency HVAC equipment comes with strong warranty protection. However, that protection is only as good as the fine print, much of which states that warranties are only valid as long as the system equipment has been regularly maintained by a licensed HVAC technician.
Convenience. Once you have signed up for a service contract, we will automatically schedule two maintenance appointments per year, one for your A/C and one for your furnace (or two checks for your heat pump if you use it for both), so you don’t have to remember to do it. Plus, you will also benefit from priority scheduling, which means if you have an HVAC issue or concern, your appointment will be placed at the top of the day’s agenda.
